Dynamo boys train with Olympic Gold Medallist

The Dynamo Boys Squad recently travelled to Hungary for their 2013 Summer training camp.

The team consisting of 9 of the junior squad and 3 Dynamo coaches flew from London Gatwick to Budapest for the 4 day visit to the National Training Centre of Hungary.

At the same time the training centre was also host to the Hungarian National Team including Olympic Gold Medallist, Krisztian Berki.
The boys had the chance to see first hand what goes into the making of an Olympic Gold medallist.

The team were located less than 10mins walk from the complex in the new Lions Garden hotel. There, they had use of an indoor swimming pool and comfortable air-conditioned rooms.
The main aim of the training camp was to improve all aspects of physical preparation.
In a very warm, humid training environment, the boys worked at a high intensity completing daily Leg circuits, specific Rings strength work and endurance tasks on the Pommel Horse.

After two full, 6 hour training days, the boys enjoyed a bit of down time before travelling home by spending the afternoon at Aqua world, the 2nd biggest waterpark in Europe.

On the team's final day, the gymnasts had the chance to take some photographs of the facilities as well as photos with Krisztian Berki, the Olympic Pommel Horse champion in London last year and of course his prize possession.

Krisztian and his teammates were very helpful and accommodating to the Dynamo team and many new friends and connections were made.

On leaving Budapest the gymnasts felt inspired after meeting Krisztian and the National Team and we hope they keep up all their good work throughout the rest of the summer as they continue to prepare for big events that take place a the end of the year.

Men’s Head Coach, Adam Paterson said “Our thanks go to the whole of the Hungarian Gymnastics Federation for organising a brilliant and worthwhile camp for our team.”

The Squad of gymnasts that travelled to Budapest were:
Charlie Howard (16),
Daniel Lee (14),
Jack Helps (12),
Louis Brunnen (12),
Harry Hayes (12), Joseph Devine (12),
James Leaver (12),
Keaton Spry (11),
Murray Tipple (11).
Accompanied by Jason Helps, Nathan Kitcher & Adam Paterson.
