Dynamo Gymnasts qualify for National Finals

21 of Dynamo’s Men's Artistic Squad took part in the Southern Region In Age, Out of Age and Elite Setwork Qualifier over the weekend in Basingstoke.

With all In Age entrants there was the opportunity to qualify and go forward to represent the South of England in the National Finals being held in November in Birmingham.

Dynamo’s youngest entrants were Isaac Beattie-Edwards and Ben Fyvie-Rae who were gaining valuable competition experience competing in the Pre-Level 1 age group where they competed the Level 1 routines a year in advance of becoming eligible for national finals. Both boys demonstated good routines across 7 apparatus, finishing 7th and 11th scoring 58.30 and 57.10.

In the level 1 category Dynamo had representation in the shape of Owen Sims, Finley Hughes, Wesley Wong, Tom George, Ethan Green, Tyler Ceon Grant, Matthias Potter and Taine Pitter in the Out of Age Level 1 group.
Owen produced a fine performance to score 64.65 across 7 apparatus to take the Silver All around medal and book his place in the National Finals. Finley, Wesley, Ethan, Tyler, Tom and Matthias competed well in a large field of gymnasts,  finishing 9th, 12th, 17th, 19th, 20th and 21st respectively.
Taine Pitter also put in a fine performance to win the Out of Age title with a score of 50.05 over 6 apparatus.

Henry Baynes, Murray Tipple, Davey Martinson and Connor Williams competed well in the Level 2 In Age and Out of Age categories. With Henry Baynes finishing 11th in the In Age competition and Davey, Murray and Connor finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Level 2 Out of Age competition. Also in Level 2, Lyle Harry competed in the Elite Grade category with some challenging routines. Lyle took the Gold medal with an encouraging score of 72.75 across 8 apparatus.

Keaton Spry was Dynamo’s sole representative in Level 3 and despite some minor errors, finished a very good 4th place all around and a place in the National Finals with a score of 61.75 across 7 apparatus.

Dynamo’s Level 4 gymnasts were hoping to continue their fine form from the London Development Open earlier in the month. Again they showed the depth of this group with James Leaver finishing in pole position with 65.55, Jack Helps just behind in second with 65.15, Joseph Devine made more positive steps forward by taking the bronze medal with 63.80 with Harry Hayes and Louis Brunnen completing the sweep of the top 5 places finishing 4th and 5th respectively scoring 62.15 and 61.85.

The Dynamo coaching team would like to congratulate Owen Sims, Lyle Harry, Keaton Spry, James Leaver, Jack Helps, Joseph Devine, Harry Hayes and Louis Brunnen on their selection into the South Region Teams for the National Finals.

We hope these boys continue to work hard in the gym and improve their individuals score further still.
