Dynamo Girls in Southern Region Grades Competition

Last weekend, the Dynamo Girls Squad travelled to Milton Keynes for the Southern Region Grades competition.

Day 1 of competition was the turn of the Compulsory Grade gymnasts. Amelie Priestman competed in Compulsory 3, getting off to a positive start on floor with a well executed routine. Amelie then went through her Range & Conditioning set cleanly and followed on with a massive score of 13.10 on Vault. Amelie took an unfortunate fall on bars and beam but had done enough to pass her Grade comfortably with an all around score of 52.10 and 6th place overall. Amelie can now look to prepare for Compulsory 2 next year, getting closer to the aim to compete in the British Championships.

Day 2 was the turn of the NDP Grade gymnasts, with all the girls competing having qualified through their counties. This was the first time that the Dynamo girls have competed outside the comforts of their own gym. In Grade 6, Ella Mears was top of the Dynamo girls in 14th place, with an overall score of 61.90. Team mates Molly Symonds, finished in 19th place with an overall score of 61.45, closely followed by Lydia Simm in 20th with 61.10. Ruby Webber finished in 25th with an overall score of 60.80, and Vanita Smith finished in 33rd with 58.65. Team mates Sabine Potter & Olivia Francis finished in joint 34th with 58.55.

In Grade 5, Dolcie Hansler, finished top of the Dynamo girls in 14th place with an overall score of 59.95. Team mates Bethan Light finished in 22nd with 57.50, with Lily Harrington in 23rd with 57.30. Lily also picked up the Bronze medal on Vault with a massive score of 13.25, for her flighted Handspring Flat Back. Tallulah Sim finished in 26th with a score of 56.60, and Emma Glasspool in 28th with 55.70.

A fantastic weekend of competition for all the Dynamo Girls, who will now look to compete in the Levels competition later in the year.
