Kelly also competed a full-in back out off beam, a skill only performed by the current World Champion. At the conclusion of the competition, Kelly was crowned the English floor champion, and placed 2nd on Vault, after competing her new Vault. The English Championships also counted as a trial event for Kelly, for the upcoming European Championships. The competition is due to be held next month in Montpellier, France.

Competing alongside Kelly, first year Senior gymnast, Danielle Barnes, head girl at Sholing Technology College, stepped up to the occasion finishing a very credible 17th overall. Head Coach Debbie Richardson said of the weekends results, “All the gymnasts show that they have moved forward in the new competition season with some upgrades in there routines. Now they can look forward to performing some world class elements in the Challenge Cup and continuing to work towards selection for the British Squad. Simm is established in the top 3, and is hoping for selection for the European Championships in April and ultimately be part of the Team for the World Championships in Glasgow.”
