National Finals for Dynamo Boys

Dynamo Boys Squad travelled to Birmingham’s GMAC Alexander Stadium along with their coaches Nathan Kitcher and Anthony Munday, to compete in the NDP Elite and Club Grade National Finals at the weekend. Having qualified to compete for the South Region earlier in the year this competition now allows the boys to compete their grade routines against the best boys in the country and to achieve a National ranking.

Dynamo had representation from five boys competing across various levels in the competition. Starting with our youngest in the Level 1 Club Category, 9 year old Joe Wilson finished in 22nd place with an all around score of 60.55, also Joe placed 3rd on the pommel horse scoring 9.75. Team mate Sam Mould finished in 45th position scoring 58.50. The two Dynamo boys helped the Southern Region Team to finish 5th all round.

In the Level 2 club competition, 10 year old Ben Fyvie-Rae finished in 55th place with an overall score of 56.75 helping the level 2 South Team to 9th position.

The Level 3 competition saw 11 year old Finley Hughes finish in 30th with a total score of 59.44. Finley had a clean competition helping the South Team to 6th position.

Our Elite Level 4 Gymnast Lyle Harry finished in 6th overall with a total score of 69.575. Lyle led the South team to 3rd place with an overall team score of 199.250. In the Elite competition the boys must compete across 8 apparatus which also includes Physical and Artistic Preparation Routines as well as the common 6 apparatus.  This stands Lyle in a fantastic position amongst the best Elite 12 year old boys in the country. Lyle will now prepare for the British Championships next month where he will hope to continue his good form.

All in all, a great weekend with achievements from all the boys. The boys will now continue the hard work we have put in over the past few months and continue heading in the right direction, into the new competition season next year.

Head Men’s Coach Nathan Kitcher said of the boy’s performance “The result of this weekend’s competition shows the progress of the boy’s squad and we look forward to the future with confidence.”
