Dynamo Boys London Open

Dynamo School of Gymnastics Boys Squad travelled to London along with their coaches Nathan Kitcher, Anthony Munday and Carol Munday, to compete in the London Elite and Club Development Grades. This competition allows the boys to compete their grade routines against the best boys in the country in practice for the National Finals held later in the year in GMAC Birmingham.

Dynamo had representation from eleven boys competing across various levels in the competition. Starting with our youngest Pre Level 1 U8 Tom Harrison finished 40th, with an all around score of 40.85, in his first year of competitive gymnastics.

In the Level 1 Club Category, Sam Mould finished in 2nd place, bringing home the silver medal with a score of 53.15. Team mate Joe Wilson placed 15th with a score of 49.70 also 2nd on the Pommel Horse, with Kian Andrews finishing in 37th scoring 45.45.

In the Level 2 club competition, Ben Fyvie–Rae finished in 34th place with an overall score of 50.35. Team mate Isaac Beattie-Edwards finished in 42nd with 48.95, with Joe Guenier in 58th scoring 41.15.

In Level 3 club competition we had Tom George in 26th overall scoring 51.60. Finley Hughes was just behind in 27th with a total score of 51.30. Wesley Wong finished in 35th scoring 49.00.

Our Elite Level 4 Gymnast Lyle Harry finished in 8th with a total score of 63.975. Lyle also finished 4th on Horizontal Bar, 5th on Parallel Bars and 6th on Rings. In the Elite competition the boys must compete across 8 apparatus which also includes Physical and Artistic Preparation Routines as well as the common 6 apparatus.

All in all, a great weekend with achievements from all the boys. The boys will now need to continue the hard work we have put in over the past few months and continue heading in the right direction.

Head Men’s Coach Nathan Kitcher said of the boy’s performance “The result of this weekend’s competition shows the progress of the boy’s squad and we look forward to the National Finals with confidence.”
