Dynamo¹s Annual Squad Championships

Dynamo¹s Annual Squad Championships was once again a fun filled day for all of our gymnasts. 
With 64 gymnasts taking part aged from 7 upwards, it was a great chance for all the gymnasts to compete new skills and try out their routines ahead of future competitions.

The competition began with a showcase from Dynamo¹s Kelly Simm, fresh back from a training camp in Barcelona where she¹s been working along with the GB National squad trialling for the upcoming Olympic Selection. Our VIP guests, parents and gymnasts enjoyed watching Kelly¹s performance ahead of their competition. 

The competition then showcased all of our squad gymnasts across various age groups and levels.

Level 5 In Age - Lucie Denton, Danae Sexton, Kennedy Andrews, Lucy Glasspool, Poppy Fletcher, Rose Schmulian, Megan Thorpe, Lilia Smith
Lucy Glasspool took 1st place overall with a score of 46.1, followed by Lucie Denton in 2nd place with 45.65 and Kennedy Andrews in 3rd with 44.3.

Level 4 In Age - Molly Symonds, Lydia Sim, Olivia Francis, Ella Mears
Lydia Sim took 1st place with 45.6, just ahead of team mate Molly Symonds in 2nd place with 45.4, and Olivia Francis in 3rd with 44.4.

Level 5 OOA - Charlotte Ingram, Jessica Cole, Sabine Potter, Lucy Good
Jessica Cole took 1st place with a total score of 47.3, Sabine Potter finished 2nd with 45.3, and Lucy Good was 3rd overall with 43.1.

Level 4 OOA Junior - Saffron Drake, Isla Ross, Dolcie Hansler, Tianna Davis,
Lily Harrington, Bethan Light, Emma Glasspool, Tallulah Sim, Anabel Edem, Shannon Richards
Anabel Edem took 1st place with an all-around score of 47.15, Dolcie Hansler was 2nd with 46.95 and Emma Glasspool finished 3rd with 46.9.

Level 4 OOA Senior - Olivia Jenman, Stephanie King, Olivia Perry, Madeleine Pople, Freya Dove, Tia Clarke, Mia Thomas
Olivia Jenman finished 1st overall with a score of 51.1, with Madeleine Pople was 2nd with 49.5 and Mia Thomas 3rd with 48.9.

Level 2 - Victoria Baynes, Lila North, Elise Blisset, Tiger Weidner, Ellen Martin
Ellen Martin took the overall title with 48.95 in 1st place, with Tiger Weidner in 2nd with 48.65 and Elise Blisset 3rd with 44.6.

Espoir - Sydney Letchford, Isabelle Prinsep
Sydney Letchford finished 1st overall with a total of 46.15, with Isabelle Prinsep in 2nd with 42.95.

Junior ­ Tayah Askham, Leah Mitchell, Ella Beattie-Edwards, Olivia Essex, Jessica Wells, Amy Layzell
Olivia Essex finished 1st overall with a total score of 47.8, with Jessica Wells in 2nd with 47.05 and Leah Mitchell 3rd with 45.8.

Senior ­ Danielle Barnes
Danielle Barnes took the title with an all-around score of 51.25

Under 8/9 Development Boys ­ Jude Routledge, Louie Hansler, Lucas Jones, Charlie Fyvie-Rae
Louie Hansler finished 1st with a total of 65.2, with Jude Routledge in 2nd with 64.45, and Lucas Jones in 3rd with 59.4.

Under 10 Development Boys ­ Jo Wilson, Sam Mould, Kian Andrews, Ben Coeshall, Rory Tidmus, Tom Harrison
Sam Mould finished 1st overall with a total score of 68.75, followed by Kian Andrews in 2nd with 67.4, and Tom Harrison in 3rd with 66.4.

Under 12 Development Boys ­ Finley Hughes, Tom George, Wesley Wong, Ben Fyvie-Rae, Issac Beattie-Edwards
Finley Hughes finished in 1st position with a total of 69.3, Tom George was 2nd with 67.8, followed by Wesley Wong with 67.0.

FIG Boys ­ Lyle Harry, Sam Wilson
Lyle Harry took the overall title with 72.4 for 1st place, with Sam Wilson in 2nd with 67.9.

Special Awards are also awarded on the day for various titles:

The Lemon Cup is awarded for Outstanding Performance on the day, and this year went to Senior gymnast Danielle Barnes for her fantastic all-around competition.

The Fred Lodge Trophy was awarded to the highest boys floor score of the day, this year going to Lyle Harry with a score of 12.9.

Artistry Awards are also given to the girls who performed the most artistic and crowd pleasing floor routines. This year our VIP¹s selected Tiger Weidner and Madeleine Pople.

A new trophy for this year, The Trimmings Trophy, was awarded to those gymnasts who showed courage and commitment at this year¹s championships. The award went to Sam Mould for competing his new somersault vault in the Under 10 category and to Tayah Askham for successfully completing her new bar
routine with her new release and regrasp, despite picking up an injury in warm up.

A fantastic day for all of our gymnasts who all received participation medals and t-shirts for their performance. We now look forward to the new competition season where the girls squad will continue with their Voluntary routines, and the Men¹s Squad will prepare for their NDP Grades.

Director of Gymnastics, Debbie Richardson said of the performance "It was heart-warming to see so many young bright stars for the future".
