Hampshire County NDP Club Grades

Dynamo School of Gymnastics hosted the Hampshire County NDP Club Grades this past weekend. With over 200 competitors from across the county competing over the weekend, Dynamo had representation from 27 gymnasts across various grades.

Day 1 of competition saw the Grade 4 and Grade 1 girls compete. In the Grade 4 competition, Rio Gawne-Cain competed in her first ever Grading and put in a stunning performance to finish with an all-around score of 61.70, giving her a distinction. This put Rio in 3rd position and qualified her through to Regional Finals next month. Team mate Jessica Cole finished with an all-around score of 57.35, being commended for her performance. Sabine Potter also received commendation for her performance scoring 52.75 and finishing in 21st position.

In Grade 1, Mia Thomas finished in 3rd position after a strong performance across all apparatus. Mia finished with an all-around score of 56.85, qualifying her through to Regional Finals. Team mate Olivia Jenman finished in 6th position with a score of 55.90 being commended for her grade. Also being commended for their performance, Madeleine Pople in 7th with 55.45, Olivia Perry in 8th with 53.80 and Stephanie King in 9th with 53.75.

Day 2 of the competition saw Grades 6, 5 and 3 compete. The girls competing in their Grade 6 were all in their first ever Grading and for many their first competition. With 65 girls competing in Grade 6 from across Hampshire the Dynamo girls did a fantastic job standing out amongst their fellow competitors, with all of our girls receiving a distinction for their Grade. Ava Schoolcraft finished in 7th position with an all-around score of 60.15. Megan Thorpe finished in 9th position with an all-around score of 59.80, closely followed by team mate Belinda Walker in 10th with 59.75. Kimberley Bartholomew finished in 12th position with a score of 59.35. Olivia Learnihan finished in 17th with 58.30, followed by Lacey Williams with 57.85 in 18th position.

In Grade 5, Kennedy Andrews finished in 8th position, receiving a distinction for her performance scoring a total of 58.45. Team mate Lucy Good was close behind, also receiving a distinction with a score of 57.90 in 9th place. Receiving a commendation for her performance Rose Schumulian finished in 12th position with a score of 57.35. Finishing in 14th position with a score of 57.20 was Lilia Smith, achieving a commendation. Also achieving commendation for their Grades, Lucy Glasspool finished in 18th with 56.45, Danae Sexton and Charlotte Ingram finished in joint 19th with 56.30 and Poppy Fletcher finished in 21st with 55.70.

In Grade 3, Shannon Richards was crowned the Grade 3 Hampshire Champion scoring a total of 61.65 after a fantastic performance with her highest individual score coming on Vault with a massive 13.75. Team mate Tallulah Sim also achieved a podium finish placing 2nd all-around with a score of 61.25. Both girls achieved a distinction for their performance and will travel to Regional Finals next month. Team mate Tianna Davis also received a distinction for her performance placing 5th overall with a score of 58.90. Saffron Drake was commended for her Grade placing 14th with an all-around score of 55.70.

A fantastic weekend for Team Dynamo, with all 27 girls passing their Grades with commendation or distinction. The girls have put in the hard work since the New Year and it showed in their performances. 4 girls will now travel to Abingdon Gymnastics Club next month to take part in the Regional Grade Finals.

Head of Women’s Artistic at Dynamo said of the girl’s performance “We’re proud of all the girls this weekend. It was great to see them looking confident in their routines and enjoying the competition. The results reflect the hard work the girls have put in so far this year”.
