Dynamo Boys Pipersvale Challenge

Dynamo School of Gymnastics Boys Squad, based at Hamble Community Sports College, travelled to Pipersvale Gymnastics Club in Ipswich at the weekend along with their coaches Nathan Kitcher and Anthony Munday, to compete in the Pipersvale Challenge. This competition allows the boys to perform their best skills in routine and find a ranking within the nation‘s best gymnasts.

Dynamo had representation from six young boys competing across various levels in the Championships. Starting with our youngest gymnast U8 Jude Routledge finished 36th with an all around score of 60.30. This was his first year of pre level competitive gymnastics in a national competition competing against over 80 gymnasts. This competition is all about learning lessons and gaining as much experience as possible to help build towards the next competition and towards the rest of his gymnastics career ahead of him.

In the U9 Development Category, Tom Harrison finished in 55th place with a score of 65.90. Team mate Joshua Coomber placing 68th with a score of 62.40. All Dynamos’ young gymnasts did a fantastic job achieving all their goals and are now ready to work towards their next big event.

In the U12 Development competition, Kian Andrews finished in 36th position scoring 62.55. Samuel Mould finished in 52nd place with a total score of 59.55. Team mate Joe Wilson finished in 70th position with a total score of 50.55. Unfortunately Joe picked up and injury on floor and was unable to compete on a few apparatus. Joe was very impressive and held it together very well and pushed his wonderful style and presentation on the remaining apparatus to score as cleanly as possible. This is extremely hard to do at such a young age and is important that young gymnasts understand how to deal with difficult situations when they may occur.

All in all, a great weekend with achievements from all the boys. The boys will now need to continue the hard work we have put in over the past few months ahead of the Southern Region Championships Competition in 2 weeks time.

Head Men’s Coach Nathan Kitcher said of the boys performance “The results of this weekend’s competition show the progress of the boys squad and we look forward to the Future with confidence.”
