Hampshire In Age Levels

Dynamo School of Gymnastics hosted the Hampshire In Age Levels this weekend, with girls representing Dynamo across all age groups.

Round 1 saw our Level 4 & 3 girls compete. In the Level 4 Age Group, Lucie Denton made a fantastic recovery returning from an injury, and showed true determination, to perform on 3 apparatus. Lucie placed 2nd on Vault with 12.60 and 3rd on Floor with 11.00. Lucy Glasspool put in a solid all around performance to finish in 6th place overall with a score of 39.20. Team mate Kennedy Andrews was 7th with 37.55, Poppy Fletcher in 8th with 37.00, and Lillia Smith in 9th with 35.90.
In the Level 3 competition, Molly Symonds finished in 6th place overall with a total score of 42.575. Molly also took the Gold medal for her Vaults with an average of 12.125. Lydia Sim finished in 7th position with a score of 39.85, with team mates Ella Mears in 8th with 37.00 and Olivia Francis in 9th with 36.90.

The next Round of competition was for our Pre Level 5 girls, these girls were competing for their first time, in a friendly environment. With no overall title up for grabs it was all down to individual apparatus results. Chaia Rubenstein competed all 4 apparatus, receiving 3rd place on Vault with 12.85, along with a top 10 finish on all apparatus. Mable Dove also competing on all apparatus, finished in 10th position on both Vault & Floor. Maya Smith came in 11th on Beam & Floor after competing across all 4 apparatus. Esmee Lewis and Maci Harbut competed on 2 apparatus, Vault and Floor, with Esmee placing 16h on both apparatus and Macey joint 16th on Vault and 15th on Beam.

In the Level 5 competition, Megan Thorpe finished 5th overall with a total score of 41.85. Megan also placed 3rd on Beam after competing her difficult routine without error. Kimberlee Bartholomew placed 10th overall with a score of 38.05. Team mate Olivia Learnihan finished in 13th with 37.10.

The final round of competition saw our Espoir Junior & Senior girls compete. In the Espoir competition, Lila North finished with a score of 37.85 to finish 6th overall, also taking 2nd place on Beam with a score of 10.80. Team mate Elise Blissett finished in 8th overall with a total score of 34.95.
In the Junior competition, Olivia Essex gave a solid performance all around and was crowned the Junior Challenge Hampshire Champion with a total score of 43.60. Olivia also finished 1st on both Bars & Beam, and 2nd on Vault and Floor. Sydney Letchford was close behind with 43.55 taking 2nd place overall. Sydney placed 1st on Vault & Floor, 2nd on Bars and 3rd on Beam. Isabelle Prinsep placed 3rd overall to finish with 40.60, taking 3rd place on both Vault & Bars. Ella Beattie-Edwards finished 4th overall with a total score of 36.75, picking up the Bronze medal on Floor. Tayah Askham competed on 2 pieces after returning from injury, placing 2nd on Beam with a score of 10.85.
In the Senior competition, Jessica Wells finished with a score of 42.65 to finish 2nd overall. Jessica also placed 2nd on Bars and Floor, and 3rd on Vault.

A fantastic weekend for Team Dynamo, this was the 3rd consecutive competition for the Dynamo Women’s Artistic Squad, with the girls picking up medals in all age groups it proved yet another valuable competition. Head Coach Kerri Upton said of the girls performance: “The girls proved today they can consistently perform under competition pressure, and the fact we’re picking up medals across all age groups shows the depth of our girls squad. A fantastic competition, the girls have worked hard in the lead up so we’re proud of the girls achievements.”
