Squad Championships Write up

This weekend Dynamo School of Gymnastics hosted their Annual Advanced and Squad Championships. With close to 200 competitors competing across the weekend, it was a fantastic event showcasing some high-level gymnastics.

Day 1 was the turn of the Advanced Recreational Gymnasts, with gymnasts ranging from 8 to 16 years old competing across all 4 apparatus. Awards were given for each individual age group .

8 years: 1st Imogen Poole 2nd Maja Major-Fabian 3rd Isla Curtis

10 years: 1st Olivia Kopicka 2nd Indie Horton 3rd Maisie-Leigh Gibbs

12 years: 1st Macie Lewis 2nd Jess Stewart 3rd Mia Chandler

13 years: 1st Jemima Christy 2nd Amy Brown 3rd Tilly King

14/15 years: 1st Maddy Pople 2nd Olivia Williams 3rd Freya Dove

16+ years: 1st Mia Thomas 2nd Samantha Shepperd

Boys: 1st Sam Davies 2nd William Casey 3rd Charlie Hill

Special Awards were also given to Freya Dove, Olivia Williams, and William Casey for their hard work and commitment to training and the club.

Day 2 was the turn of our Development and Squad Gymnasts. The morning session showcased our young development gymnasts, many of which were competing for the first time.

The Jan Whitlock trophy is also given out for Outstanding Newcomer, this year the award went to Hadiya Nazari and Alexander Burian

Our squad gymnasts were mixed into teams for the afternoon session, showcasing the hard work the squad has been putting in this year it was a fantastic display with our Senior Girls and Boys captaining their teams.

All in all, a fantastic weekend for all of our gymnasts showing what a year of hard work has allowed them to achieve. We’re extremely proud of our Team, to our coaches judges and parents who allowed the weekend to run so smoothly and allow our gymnasts a very enjoyable day.

We now look forward to an enjoyable festive season, before we prepare for a big year ahead.
